Falcons in the City

Read the Portland Tribune Newspaper story of how I wrote, illustrated and published my first children's book about the peregrine falcons that live on three Willamette River bridges and one Columbia River bridge in Portland, Oregon!

My book titled, Falcons in the City, is based on true falcon and human events in our city and state!  It is a celebration of the work of Portland Audubon Society volunteers, naturalists, scientists and legislators who are committed to wildlife stewardship on our delicate planet!  Without the work of these concerned citizens, we would not be seeing peregrine falcons living anywhere in the USA today!

Frida the falcon narrates the story of how her falcon family ancestors migrated from Crater Lake to nest on the Willamette River bridges in Portland, after reaching near extinction in the 1970's.  The tale of pergrine falcon reestablishment in the Oregon is a hopeful inspiration for future generations of naturalists, wildlife biologists and animal lovers!

The day I brought home 3 boxes of my self published books fresh off the press!    The talented people at Inkwater Press in Portland did the beautiful book layout and design!  They arranged for the printing of 500 copies in May 2013 by Color House Graphics in the United States!  I'm so delighted that people from kindergarten age to adult love the story!  Copies of the book sell for $15.00.  You may purchase my book on line directly from me, or support one of the bookstores listed to the right.  Inkwater Press does not house or sell any self-authored or self-published books, as of this year 2021.  Go to the Order Books page for updated information on ordering books.  Thanks for your support!
